  • Check the box for ‘Enable stock management’.
  • Confirm your settings for notifications and thresholds.
  • Click the ‘Save changes’ button at the left-bottom to save your changes.

Setting Up Inventory Tracking for Simple Products #

  • Navigate to ‘Products’ and click on ‘All Products’ to view the list of existing products or click on ‘Add New’ to create a new product.
  • In the product editor screen, locate the Inventory section.
  • Enable stock management by checking the ‘Manage stock?’ checkbox. This will activate inventory management for the product.
  • Set the stock quantity for the product in the ‘Stock quantity’ field. Enter the number of available units for that product.
  • If you want to enable backorders, check the ‘Allow backorders?’ checkbox. This allows customers to place orders even when the product is out of stock.
  • Specify the low stock threshold in the ‘Low stock threshold’ field. This value determines when the product will be marked as low stock and trigger a notification.
  • Optionally, you can set a SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) for the product in the “SKU” field. The SKU is a unique identifier used for inventory tracking.
  • Save your changes by clicking the ‘Update’ button if you’re editing an existing product or the ‘Publish’ button if you’re creating a new product.
